An original 1912 RMS Titanic Memorial Card, printed and published by the East London Printing Co., 7 Houndsditch, London E.C., commemorating one of the greatest maritime disasters in history. Originally issued as a folding memorial card, this example has become fully detached along the original fold and now consists of the two original sections. The card is printed with a double-ruled ebony and steel blue border and, when complete, opens to reveal an illustration together with the printed dedication: "In Sacred Memory of 'The Titanic' which collided with an iceberg off Cape Race, on April 15th 1912. The most appalling disaster in maritime history with a loss of over 1000 lives." In addition to being detached into two pieces, the card displays noticeable fading together with general age-related wear consistent with its age. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description and condition report. Despite its condition, this remains a scarce survivor from 1912 and an evocative piece of original Titanic ephemera. An increasingly difficult item to find, it would make an excellent addition to any collection of RMS Titanic memorabilia, maritime history or early twentieth-century historical ephemera.ion.
