Antique CDV Photo Wahine Māori Woman Moko Burton Brothers Dunedin NZ. Original 19th century carte de visite photograph by Burton Brothers, Artists & Photographers of Dunedin, New Zealand, dating from around the 1880s and showing an unidentified wahine Māori with clearly visible moko kauae. The photograph is a close portrait with good detail to the sitter's face, hair and clothing and is mounted on the original Burton Brothers card with their studio details printed to the front and decorative backmark to the reverse.  A good original example of 19th century Māori portraiture with some age-related wear and marks as shown.
