McConnell's Old Irish Whisky Belfast Advertising Collapsible Drinking Cup c1900. An unusual antique brass telescopic drinking cup contained in its original hinged circular case, engraved with advertising for McConnell's Old Irish Whisky, Belfast, together with the firm's Irish harp trademark and established 1776 date. The collapsible cup has a decorative border around the base and a registered design number underneath. Dating from the late Victorian or Edwardian period, circa 1900, this is an interesting piece of early Irish whiskey advertising and distillery memorabilia. Condition is good for age with general wear and patination. The button-operated case opening mechanism is still working, although the small suspension loop originally fitted to the button appears to be missing.
