This pair of Vintage 925 Silver Novelty Pill Boxes In Wrapped Sweet Form Pair are unusual mid-century silver novelty boxes formed as wrapped sweets or candies, each opening via a hinged lid. Both pieces are stamped “925” for silver purity and retain an attractive lightly planished and engraved finish to the lids.  The larger oval example measures approximately 55mm in length, with the second slightly smaller rectangular example of matching design. Combined weight is approximately 25.7g. The boxes likely date from the mid-late 20th century and were probably intended as novelty pill boxes, trinket boxes or small decorative silver containers.  Both remain in good vintage condition with age-related surface wear, minor marks and patina consistent with use. An appealing and unusual pair of novelty silver items with a distinctive sculptural form.
