A Victorian sterling silver buckle bangle dating from 1885, featuring attractive engraved floral and foliate decoration with a decorative silver buckle design. The bangle has a hinged construction and is hallmarked Birmingham 1885, with the maker's mark WW and West's Patent marking to the interior. The maker's mark is believed to be that of William West, although similar marks were used by other silversmiths, including William Warr, who is also known to have produced bangles incorporating West's patented fastening. Weighs approximately 35g and is in good antique condition with age-related wear and tarnishing as shown in the photographs. An attractive example of late Victorian silver jewellery.
